We've got a few reports that go out regularly to senior staff, most of whom use iPhones and/or iPads. Most of the reports we send as PDFs, but one of them really works better as excel. Unfortunately, older versions of excel docs with the .xls extension don't play well with the iOS devices. I've downloaded an app called Office2 that deals with older versions of office documents, and that works fine for me as a workaround, but I'm still wondering about it. I assume that infomaker reports saved as an older version of excel because... well... it's infomaker. When it comes to SSRS reports, what determines what version of excel the report is saved in?

Not directly addressing the question but have you looked into Roambi for iPad? Pretty cool BI / visualizer that accepts XLS and other datasets
Good luck!
That is a pretty slick looking product. Have you used it for any reports?
