Auto-notification for hung scheduled reports?

Hi,

Is there is an automatic way to be notified when a scheduled job is hung? We want to address this situation in a more efficient way and not depend on users reporting a problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeri

I just looked at SQL Management Studio and each job has a notifications tab that has email as an option that can be set to deploy if the job fails.

I am pretty sure that SQL Management Studio has options under advanced job properties to send emails out with success or failure notifications.

  • Jeri,

I think I misread your question. Looks like you are referring to the scheduled reports as opposed to a scheduled SQL server job. I gave you instructions on how to send notifications when a SQL server job fails, rather than a scheduled Tessitura report.

I do not know how to send notifications out when the reports are not deployed. This happens to us too and I get lots of emails like, "Where is the daily report?"

    Sorry for the confusion,

    Christian
