Changing Appeal for Source Number

I have a person in Development who inadvertently created a new source in the wrong appeal.  My idea is to simply change the appeal number on the back end in SQL in the appropriate table (which I think is TX_APPEAL_MEDIA_TYPE), but that may be overthinking it.

Is this the best way to do this?  Am I even in the right table?  Because you'd think there'd be a table called T_SOURCE_NO or something, but there doesn't seem to be one.

Thoughts are appreciated, as always, Tessiturians.

TRIVIA BONUS: Romans prized salt so highly that soldiers were paid with it, giving rise to the term "salary" (from the Latin salarum, meaning "salt money").  Such a term also gave rise to the saying of an unproductive worker being "not worth his salt".

  • Matt,

It depends on if they promoted the source code or not, and if the source has been used in a transaction yet.  The cleanest way to deal with this if the source has not been moved is to remove the source code using the Delete Promotions and Sources utility in the Campaign and Appeal report folder.  If the source has not been used nor has it been promoted then it should be fine to update it in TX_APPEAL_MEDIA_TYPE (and yes, that is the name of the source table).

    Best,
