Financail Software and Tessitura

We were wondering how many organizations push their data automatically from Tessitura to their Financial Software?  If so, what products do you use and what are your thoughts on the subject?

    Hi Julie,

    At Yale, we use Oracle Financial, and we have just launched a semi-automated push of data from Tessitura into Oracle. Tessitura creates the data files, but we are still uploading them manually, at least for now.

    Hi Julie

     

    Don’t know if you would exactly call it ‘automated’, but we at Sydney Opera House also use our SUN Finance system’s Journal upload facility to directly import a file run and saved from Tessitura each day.

     

    The Tess GL Export report itself has been customised so that the file has the number and sequence of columns that SUN expects, including having a number of blank columns for which there is no Tess data but that the import requires.

     

    This means the report run from Tess requires no manual changes before its loaded into SUN (which was an auditor’s requirement).

    Julie, i think you use Lawson, as do we. We do an automated import to Lawson, updating both GL and Activity Management. It is basically a customized version of the posting report stored procedure using linked SQL server tables. We load it through the Lawson GL load tables (GLTRANSREL). Works like a charm, and we do some added calculations for commissions and purpose-restricted gifts as part of it.

    Thank you all for the great responses....

    Alan - That is exactly what we are trying to do with Lawson and a customized GL Posting Report.  I dont suppose you would be willing to share the report proc with us?  My users may have additional questions that I am not thinking of that I may throw your way tomorrow.  Thanks for responding and for the info!

    That would be great Alan....The great mystery on our end is Lawson and taking a look at the procedures would definitely assist us on that front.  Thank you.
