What triggers the Successful count in the Source pane of the Appeals window: entry in the contributions table or transactions table or something else?

Is the AP_UPDATE_APPEAL and AP_UPDATE_CAMPAIGN procedures that update these values. We have a schedule job that runs them regularly to update the values.
