Items in .ini file disappearing

We have a strange occurance with settings disappearing from .ini files, but only on some computers.

We have our .ini files for each user stored in the user's folder on a file server, and the client is pointed to use said .ini file.  A user logs in to one computer and gets the secure check not done error.  If we then go to the user's folder, find the .ini file and open it there are maybe two lines in the file and are related to screen size.  The user then logs in to another computer and can log in to Tessitura just fine...same user, same folder, different outcome.

Has anyone else seen this happen?

I’ve seen other strange things like this happen with user profiles.  What usually fixes it for me is to delete the user’s profile folder from the hard drive on the computer where the login does not work.  Typically I reboot the pc, then login as administrator, then delete the user profile folder, then reboot again, then login as the user (which should pull a fresh copy of the profile from the file server) and see if the problem is fixed.
