Hi,
Has anyone updated TR_COUNTRY so all countries have phone and zip masking? If so, would you be willing to share since we want to provide database consistency and also include masking on our website.
Also, for our own clarification, was phone and zip masking supplied only for most commonly used countries? Just wondering why the majority of countries do not have it.
Any insight on this topic is appreciated.
Thanks!

My sense is that you want to look at all of the following fields.
Zip Mask – The format used when postal code data is displayed. The @ symbol represents a character of the data, all other characters are displayed directly. For example, a US address is formatted @@@@@-@@@@ which displays as 45215-7653.
@@@@@@
might work.
Are there any spaces or other characters in there?
Zip Editstring – The format to which postal code data must conform when entered. Edit strings are composed of # to represent a numeral, ! to represent an uppercase letter, ^ to represent a lowercase letter, and/or x to represent any character. Putting a tilde (~) before one of the special characters removes its function and makes it act like a regular character. For example, a Canadian postal code is formatted !#! #!# which translates to A1B 2C3.
####!!
Or Maybe
####^^
Zip Valid Lengths – The valid number of characters that can be used for a postal code. Multiple values can be entered, delimited by commas.

My table is currently not well filled out here in the US or I’d share mine. If you get something that works for you I would love to have a copy so that I could add this to our table.

Thanks everyone! This is all a little bit over my head, so could someone explain how to use this to get Netherlands addresses to work? Their zipcodes are alphanumeric -- 4 numbers followed by 2 letters -- so we're having some trouble getting a customer going on TNEW.
Would I edit the Netherlands entry in TR_Country to have @@@@ in the Zip field?

Hi David
This is what we mostly use in AUS/NZ if the country code is going to be used as part of the phone format. Just remember area codes have the zero removed when the country code is included (ie 02 becomes 2)
The Ids used for States in TR_STATE for Australia are: NSW – New South Wales, SA – South Australia, VIC – Victoria, TAS – Tasmania, QLD – Queensland, ACT – Australian Capital Territory, WA – Western Australia. Note Western Australia has the same id (WA) as Washington and may cause an issue if you have any reports etc that just looks at id of the state and not in conjunction with the country.
For NZ – there are no States. The city name goes in the State field, the City field is sometimes populated with the suburb of the city, if the city has suburbs.
A sample NZ address:
· 7 Waterloo Quay (street1)
· Pipitea (City – which is the suburb)
· Wellington (State – which is the city)
· 6011 (postal code)
Hope that helps.
Sandra

We ran into this a couple years ago and added the Netherlands. Now we're looking at more of Europe, Australia and NZ. Were you ever able to get a list a find a quick way to accurately populate the table?
