Unable to view report

I have a report that when viewed through the window in tessitura it gives the following error.  " Execution "acpcin454sm3kq55pqbnyeqb cannot be found (rsExecutionNotFound)"  When I close out of Tessitura and run it again it will open.  If you go directly to the report link and run it it opens fine in Internet Explorer. Any idea what could be causing this error.

  • A couple of things could be happening:

    1.       Timeout exception (as Ben notes)

    2.       Server was not available or didn’t become available in time for the request to process.  This can sometimes happen if you are the FIRST request after IIS goes into a sleep state.

    3.       Once a request has been processed, the report data is cached.  This is why the second request with the same parameters and credentials runs very fast.

Sometimes, to solve #2, users will set up a subscription to run a report (any report) just to “wake up” the report server on a daily basis.

I occasionally see similar errors running SSRS reports if the report was modified while someone was already logged in to Tessitura. Relogging in has always resolved it.
