Hi all, we recently bought three new Symbol MC55 scanners which came with Windows Mobile 6.5. After installing NScan 4.0 and configuring it, when we clicked on the Track Tickets button we were getting an error like "InitReader - UnmarshalStructInfoFrom" and then after clicking on the Ok button we were getting another error message like "Cannot initialize Symbol scanner" and we could never go to the actual screen. Other screens were working ok though. We are having this error on all three of them. We un-installed and re-installed several times in many different ways and did all sorts of configuration but we are still having this problem. We did all the basic checks and made sure that Symbol is checked in the Admin Settings screen.
We already have 10 scanners including one MC55 all of which are running Windows Mobile 6.0 or previous version and we never had this problem on any of those. Has any of you faced this situation or is running NScan on Symbol scanner with Windows Mobile 6.5? If you are, which version of NScan you are running?
We are kind of stuck with these scanners at this moment. Any help will be highly appreciated. We are also in the middle of the season and won’t have a chance to upgrade our NScan version to any of the later versions, if that’s a solution.

Just in case anybody is interested, we downgraded the OS to 6.1 and now could run NScan successfully.

Hi Mo! Thanks for posting this - I am having the same trouble here and am going to attempt to downgrade to 6.1 and see if that helps. My issue is that I have no idea how to go about accomplishing that downgrade :). Could you point me in the right direction?
I too have been stuck with this scanner project for quite some time and am anxious to make progress.

We went the other route and upgraded to NSCAN v5.3. This was the best approach for us since we were early in our deployment.

Hi Carli, I agree with Jackie, best route is to upgrade to NScan v5.31 and you won’t have this issue. Still if you want to downgrade to 6.1, you can get the necessary setup files and instruction doc from Motorola web site. Just in case you can’t find them there, pls, let me know. I guess I saved mine somewhere. I will send them to you.
