Archive Software

Apologies in advance for the multiple posts to various forums.

This is not directly Tessitura related but I was wondering what software is in use for archiving historical data at your organisation?

We are looking for software that we would be able to use for historical data and asset management, such as photos and were wondering which programmes other organisations were using.

Any information would be of help.

Thanks,

Caryl

We use a program called Past Perfect (PP4) and it has worked well for us.  We mainly purchased it to revamp our museum archives, in order to receive accreditation.  We have two sites/buildings that use the program (each instance has to be installed on separate servers…cannot install more than one instance per server), with 5 users at each site.  I maintain the programs on the server, and we’ve had very few problems, and updates are very easy to do.  They have a new version 5 out, but we have not upgraded to that yet.  The website is:  www.museumsoftware.com.  We checked into several programs before selecting this one, and it seems to be an industry leader.  They offer excellent training as well, and were able to convert our old existing data from a very old Apple computer, so we did not have to re-enter all of our previous data.

    Hope this helps!
