In 2008 a merge of two dissimilar accounts was performed. This had gone unnoticed until today when one of the parties (A) logged into the website using his email address, and the account info for the other person (B) appeared. It appears the email address is the only factor joining the records.
I read up in the forums and found a process on how to proceed with an "UNmerge" (http://www.tessituranetwork.com/COMMUNITY/forums/p/246/786.aspx#786), but I'd like to address this issue in another way.
Party B for all purposes is a dead account, customer moved out of the country, and is highly unlikely he'll ever be an active consitiuent again. I'd simply like to strip A's email address off of B's record and inactive B. We tried this, however logging back into the web under A's email address still brings up B's account info.
Is there a way to removed the join without have to process the UNmerge procedure above?
It’s not the email that needs to be in the correct account, it’s the login (third radio button on the Address tab).
Try moving the login and associated e-mail, as referenced from within the login, from B’s customer number to A’s. TRY THIS IN TEST!
