HiI am researching if it is possible to use TRBO to take contributions throughout our house. The idea is that patrons can walk up to a staff member and say "I would like to make a donation of $X" and we could take that via a contribution button in TRBO. Can a button be set up that does not have a set amount? In looking at the documentation it looks like the buttons are set up with a set amount (a $75 button, $100 button, etc...). The other piece is that the fund these contributions would go to is tied to a membership where the levels are ranges (any giving between $75 and $249 triggers the same membership) so we don't want buttons for each level because the amounts are variable.ThanksJess LevySan Francsico Opera
Hi Jess,
It's not possible to set up buttons that aren't for fixed amounts. Your best bet would be to set up buttons with a range of common dollar amounts. For the second part, you can use contribution buttons for memberships. As long as the campaign tied to the button (based on the fund) is a membership campaign, it will add the membership and select the level based on the contribution amount.
An idea I just had, but have not tested, is that you could try using the fixed amount contribution buttons like tendered amount cash buttons. For instance, press $25 twice for a $50 contribution. I haven't tested it though, so it might not work, particularly with membership contributions. But it's worth setting up a sales layout to try it out on the QuickSale screen to see what would happen.
Thanks, Kevin!
