Audible Notification when Tess is about to log you out

Now that we are live with V16, we are adjusting to I believe a shorter timer for inactivity before Tess logs you out.  While this has been always frustrating and stress inducing (how many times i JUST got logged out when a call comes in), the shorter timer is keeping me on high alert during slow times.

My question to the group is if there is a way to change what sound is played when this pop up happens?  I have attempted to isolate the system sound that is being played, but I am getting the feeling it may be on the remote server side (we are on RAMP) and won't be able to be adjusted by individual users.

Does anyone have experience with this?  I would LOVE to have a more obvious call out sound that does not match about 10 other sounds my computer makes on a daily basis.

Thanks all!

Jeff

  • I have no help to offer, but am constantly rankled that the standard approach to application "security" is to assume that you are running your PCI cashier application on a rented machine in an internet café.  Presumably in 1998.  They should also have pop-up alerts to warn me about Y2K just to nail the feeling.

think I'm not alone in that my work takes me between about 6-8 different applications, constantly jumping back and forth, and it feels like every "secure" application is anticipating when I'm about to tab back to it, and immediately logs me out before I can get to it.

  • You are not alone.  I am regularly 8-10 applications deep in my work (not counting the different tabs open in my browser), also constantly going back and forth (alt + tab for the win).  And yes, I would like to believe that there is some solution to this, but I also have no great ideas at this moment in time.

  • You're not alone.  I always lock my computer when I step away, but I count it as a major win for the day if I run to grab a sandwich and get back to my desk before I'm logged out of something.  It's like a little game I play with myself...
