Report Security - Still Has Access to Restricted Season Data

Has anyone run into this and how did you deal with it? We have a user group that is tied to a control group. That control group has access to just one season. But when I run the report while logged in as that user group, I can still see data from other seasons that I don't have access to. Is there something I'm missing? Or is that out of our control?

Does the same thing hold true for vs_perf versus t_perf?

    Gloria,

On a quick guess, there is probably a reference to TR_SEASON in the report.  You should be able to replace it with VRS_SEASON without changing anything else.  That should enforce control group security in the report.

Yes, it is a custom report so that is probably the issue. So any tips will be appreciated.

Is it a standard report or a custom report?  If it’s a standard report, you should open a help ticket.  Standard reports should respect control groups.  If it’s a custom report, it sounds like the report was not written correctly to respect control group security.  Support might still be able to help you out with some tips on using secure views for control group security in your custom reports.

  • Yes.  Any view that begins with VS_ or VRS_ should have control group security built into it.
