Hi All,
We are having an event that has an option for a Single Ticket + a $XX vip package which is a merch bag. Limit of only 100 vip packages can be sold.
I want to use a promo code with a MOS switch and allocations, but realize that maybe for a order of 4 tickets, only one person in the group actually needs a VIP ticket, the other 3 can buy single tickets.
Has anyone had an event that has a VIP package, with a LIMIT? I don't see how pricing rules could work for this. Or is it maybe just manually monitored, if you have both a Single Full and VIP ticket price type available to everyone?
Thanks for any guidance,
Jessica
We are on TNEW V6
Following because our Events Manager just asked about this!
Ours is for our Halloween party where the regular tickets will be $XX, but she wants to be able to add an extra $YY for access to our VIP area (which will have specialty booze, activities, etc). This VIP space can only physically hold 60 people.
My thought was to just build an extra performance that guests have to register for separately with the $YY VIP price type (because we want both an online and at the door option, where if someone already purchased their regular ticket, they can upgrade to VIP once they get here). That VIP performance would have the 60 capacity/facility on it, but the regular ticket performance would have our 700 capacity/facility.
Now as I'm thinking this through, would a flex package work for this?
Can you explain more about a Flex Package? Thanks
With flex packages, you create performance groups. You can make one or more required and others optional. In this case you would have one performance group for your event and second one for your merch bag. The event would be required and the merch bag would be optional. Each would be set up as a performance, so you would control the number available as you would seats. The one tricky thing with packages is that when you choose the number of tickets, you are choosing that number for all events you select. So if you select 4, then you will get 4 event tickets and 4 merch bags. You'd have to add individual event tickets separately from the package.
I suggest checking out the documentation on packages: www.tessituranetwork.com/.../Tessitura.htm
But if this is a "package" will it be on the calendar as a performance? I am familiar with flex packages, packages, super packages, etc, but we've never sold a "performance" as a package? I will look at documentation. Thanks
Packages will not show on the calendar, unfortunately. It is one thing I really don't like about them. You can list the individual performances on the calendar. You could list the event on the calendar and put a link in the description to the package.
