Documents in Windows 7

Hi,

I have just noticed that since upgrading my machine I can't open documents from the research tab, I get a screen asking me to type the name of the file I want to package.

Anyone?

  • Hmm, we don’t have office installed on any of the Tessitura servers, which particular server do you have it on?

I need to dig back through my email on this, but I believe this is related to the version of Office installed on the Tess Server.  If the server is unable to open the document natively, you may have problems. I don't think we had to install Office 2007, but managed with the converter plugin for Office 2003.

I found this week when I tried to attach a document other than a pdf or bitmap, that I got the message asking me what file to “package.”  I had not used the document tab before, so thought that perhaps the file formats were limited to pdf and bmp.  I am working on a Windows 7 professional 64-bit machine.

  • It was on the application server.  When we had to deal with this we were already on RAMP so I basically punted to the support team there. I looked through mny emails on the topic last night and realized that I don't think we ever fully resolved the issue.  Where we ended up was with an instruction to the users that if they wanted to attach documents to a record, they needed to save them as an Office 97-2003 format.
