I noticed recently that Program Names have not been added for new constituents. We use the "Donor Listing" under Program Names for our Biennial Report so if this is not up to date we have to manually adjust this in Excel. I did that for this year's report, but I'm wondering if there is a Utility to do a mass update for Program Names. I know there is the rebuild salutations utility, but because Program Names do not count as Salutations I don't think that works in this instance.
Any help or ideas on how we can do a mass update of Program Names would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I do not know if there is a standard/out-of-the-box way to mass update program names. If anyone else has a way of doing that, I would be curious to see it.
A while back though, I created a utility to mass update program book names for our organization which our Development staff use. If you have someone on staff who can create custom reports and is willing to do a bit of work on this to get this to fit your organization, I can send you the files you would need to create it. It DOES depend upon one custom/local TABLE/VIEW combination in the database which we have created to essentially create a one-to-one relationship between our donor levels, membership levels and membership organizations. But that should be something that your database person should either be able to populate themselves or else figure out some method of coding around if you do something different. There is also a section in the middle where I set all the sort of "standard program name formula" for our organization that certainly might need to be changed to match whatever formula you regularly use for program names at your organization. And, lastly, there is no accounting for the odd/unusual ones which will still need to be updated manually. But it does help at least for the majority of program book names which are pretty easily able to be built off the standard first/last name pairs. I am pretty sure that the rest of the functionality in the procedure is all standard.
WARNING, this has only been tested through Version 15. I know Memberships undergo an overhaul in Version 16; presumably I will be updating this at that time. I wonder if this is the sort of thing that could be modified using some Version 16 functionality and maybe salutations instead of my programming things in by hand and be a little more useful to other organizations. But any rate, at the moment, it is where it is, which is not ready for Version 16 and in need of a little work before being implemented elsewhere.

I don't have an answer but jumping in because I'm looking for the same thing. We want recognize members on our website. We're already using program names to track anonymous members and donors, but we haven't been updating program names so most of our members don't have them. I'm not looking forward to entering this information manually, mainly because many of these will be identical to our salutations.
