Hello All!
I am just throwing this out here to see if anyone has any ideas about this for Version 16.
We still have patrons, especially during the subscription period where people are buying packages with only zones listed and unseated tickets, who like to get a printed copy of their purchases in addition to any potential e-mail confirmation we may or may not send. Currently, in the application, this is easily achieved by going to the print window, and selecting, instead of one of the e-mail templates, what is ostensibly and InfoMaker custom report/form which then loads and can be saved/printed/e-mailed as an attachment. I was trying to figure out if there was a way to do this method with HTML templates, and I do not believe there is because that just inserts a new item into the sending queue. But with InfoMaker going away sooner rather than later, this is a solution we will be needing.
Potential solutions running around my head include:
Clearly, the last option would not be the worst thing in the world. But the thing Box Office staff love about the current option is that it is right there in the flow of normal order handling. I was wondering if there might way for the SSRS report to be inserted into the flow in the same way, or some other variant with HTML templates that did not occur to me. Just seeing if I can avoid telling them that they are just going to have to save the order, open up "Reports and Utilities" and go run a report using the order number they just created to run a completely separate report to print out.

John. I had been wondering the same thing as we work toward v16. I thought I had read in the v16 documentation somewhere that be leaving Email_Ind uncheck in T_Format for that confirmation, it would render the template in the app and it could be saved as a PDF or printed. I did check this in v15 and it worked. I can't find the specific section in the documentation now, but for our sake as well, hope this is the case in v16.
Joel Freiberg,
Thanks for commenting! That would be really excellent if that were the case. I do not suppose there is anyone out there Tessitura staff or otherwise, who could comment on whether or not that is so? Because if so, that would clearly be the most ideal solution for us here. Keeping all confirmations within the world of HTML templates definitely seems like the cleanest way to go in terms of management and making updates.
Joel is correct here and the behaviour between v15 and v16 is the same when the email indicator is unchecked for Order Ack/Conf entries in Output Formats/T_FORMAT_INFO.
Here's the documentation which has the following note.

Note: If you select an HTML template for an Order Ack/Conf entry but leave the Email Ind box unchecked, the format can be selected in ticket orders for rendering in and printing from the default browser instead of sending via email.
