Hello Tessitura friends,
It's me again.
Thanks to another Tessitura user, I found the manage attributes utility for our monthly mailing list.
Unfortunately, I've realized that we actually need to bulk add interests to our current members, so they have the option of deselecting the interest in the future if they no longer wish to receive the monthly email. This would be a one-time need, as new members are presented with the mailing list options when they sign up. Is there anything out of the box for adding interests to constituent accounts?
Thank you!

Joyce Rudyanto,
I do not have anything out of the box, but I do have a nightly script that I use for inserting/updating/maintaining parity between directly related interests and attributes in our database. Highly customized for our use, but if no one else has any easier solutions and SQL is an option for you, it should be able to be pared down for your needs.

Thanks, John! I wouldn't mind taking a crack at it in our test environment. My goal is to pull mailing list constituents by interest alone, so that even if they are members, they have the option to opt-out. I suppose I could create an attribute, bulk add it to active members, run the SQL job to pair the interest with the attribute one time only, and then my interest list would get the jump start that it needs.
Send me an e-mail. I will send it on over. I think I have enough comments in there to describe what is happening and thus allow you to pretty easily determine what I am doing, but if not, just let me know.

Hi Joy,
I created a utility that assigns interests based on a list. I'm happy to share it with you and anyone else who's interested, just email me at catherine@artsphilly.org.
Thank you, Katie! Sending an email now.
