Windcave Merchant Services feedback

Hello everyone,

We are looking for feedback from any organizations that are using Windcave merchant services. We recently converted, after having used Windcave's payment gateway services with few issues, and are having a rocky start, so are interested to know what your experiences are. We're particularly looking for information on whether the service stabilizes once all the bugs are ironed out, or if there are continual struggles with outages etc. and if there are struggles, what they are.

    i've had a lot of issues with Windcave over the years. Some of them can be attributed to our side of the interface, like badly coded timeouts etc. Others, like void accepting are on their end. I hope you are using them as a merchant service (their new prefered) and not a payment gateway.  I really don't think that I'd trust any (nonTNEW) web interface with Windcave without a pre-auth now.

    They are not bad people but the support can be very patchy, and often they can seem to wash their hands of a problem or give very esoteric advice to your bank that they have no common way to interpret, like asking your bank to authorise something that the bank is clueless about. Some devs are great though. But getting server logs for debugging is a paintrain.

    Payline is both excellent and frustrating. The way you can ID the device and software used to make any transaction is great for debugging. But the bizarre error codes that they don't list in their documentation is aggravating.

    I think that in a perfect world I'd get them to send a daily full transaction report as a CSV that we'd drop into a local table and do a match up of their DpsTxnRef with the TTessitura ccref_no from T_Payments and have a daily report for discrepancies.

We have used them for a couple years as a payment gateway without many issues. Our real problems started with the switchover to using their merchant services. Hope they get their act together a little better for all of our sakes.
