Windows 7 pin tessitura Shortcut to task bar

I have  installed Tessitura client to several Windows 7 stations; but I'm having problems getting the shortcut to pin to the task bar without getting errors. I was wondering if anyone has figured out how to get the  shortcuts to work correctly.

  • You can pin after the app is running on the taskbar, by right-clicking on the app on the taskbar, and select pin to taskbar.  The problem with this method is it only show the generic exe icon.  If you’ve created custom icons, you will lose that.

I believe the issue comes up when the shortcut is sourced from a remote system, such as a mapped drive.

  • I can get it to pinned to the task bar with no problem even with the custom Icons; but when I run the program I get this error first.

ini file not found locally. Also ini file not found in application directory!

    Then I get  this error.

    A system error has occurred.

    Windowmenu: impresario

    Object: impresario

    Objectevent: af_cleanup

    Line 25

    Error code 2

Error text: Null object reference at line 25 in function af_cleanup of object impresario.

I can run the program from the desktop but it would be nice to have it run from the task bar.

  • Under Properties-->Shortcut tab, does the Target include the location of your .ini file? For example, ours looks like this:

    Target: O:\Tessitura\WinBatch\imp.bat lyrchi.ini

The .ini is physically located under C:\Windows\, and Authenticated Users have Full Control privileges to the file itself (and only that file!). I believe I've seen that error A.) when I messed up the shortcut and/or B.) didn't give users privileges to the .ini.

    Does that help?
