Documentation - please direct me to library/links

Hi,

I'm certain this is a typical posting for "newbies".  Forgive me if I've missed this on the site, but can someone please point me to a PDF or other docs that contain details on the Tessitura API's?  The only doc I have is "Tessitura Web API Documentation Verison 9.0".  Doesn't really explain how these api's work together.  I've been making my way thru trial/error....lots of errors...

Thanks,

Larry

  • Hi Larry,

I don’t think we have exactly what you are looking for.  We have the document you found, API Documentation, which is a comprehensive listing of every API method and how to use them.  An updated version of this document with more user friendly navigation and explanations was released about two months ago, so I suggest checking to be sure you have the most current version of the doc.

The Tessitura and the Web document may be helpful for you.  It explains everything you can do in Tessitura on the web, with references to the related API methods.  The document is written with front end Tessitura users in mind so they can learn what is possible on the web, what Tessitura setup is required to go along with the web functions, and  so they can have a more informed, productive conversation with their web developer.

One more document you might want to check out is the Web API Quick Guide.  This document outlines some simple purchase processes and the associated Web API methods, which may be close to what you want.  One thing to keep in mind when looking at this document is that it is a little old, so the API methods mentioned have not been updated as newer methods have come out to replace them.  Generally speaking newer versions of API methods have an Ex on the end and should be used in new website design; old methods are clearly designated in the API Documentation document with links to the newest versions of the method so it shouldn’t be hard to sort out.

You can find all the web API related documentation here if you want to browse what else is available.
