As some of our presenters have transitioned to digital playbills we have encountered some access issues within our space. I wanted to poll the group and see what systems were in place for Guest wifi access.

We are in the process of adding guest public WIFI. To start, we will offer unauthenticated access. Guests will not have to register to use the service. However, we will partitioning that internet access from the business WIFI with an ability to throttle the guest WIFI should we need to. Our biggest hoop right now has been the supply chain and getting all the required components needed to add guest WIFI in a large space. We have been waiting months for parts which is causing the project to take longer. Eventually, we will use some sort of access authentication portal (possibly SocialSignin since it has some connections with Tessitura via the API).

At a previous organization, we had separate wifi for staff, guests and work-related devices (nscanners, exhibits that needed wifi, etc). Guests were required to sign in through a guest portal. Having them all separated allowed us to manage volume a lot more easily
