I'm working on some donor data cleanup, inputting a list of updated constituent information into their individual records. It's purely a matter of copy, paste, repeat. However, some fields will accepted data copied directly as a cell like the search fields. Other fields like Display Name for example, require that I actually go into the cell contents and select/copy the data individually before I can paste it. If you just copy and past the cell it does nothing. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason as to which fields allow this and which do not.
Does anyone know if there is a work around for this, or if it is a known issue? It seems like a minor thing, but when you're working with +1000 records, the extra step adds a significant amount of time.
Hi Kevin,
Just my 2c worth.
I've always suspected that there may be formatting in the copied text (when you copy from a cell) that Tessitura doesn't like and so won't accept the paste. This formatting isn't present in the formula bar - hence Tessi never rejects it. My main source of this issue is trying to cut and paste an email address from a cell.
So now I always cut/copy from the formula bar.
Martin
PS I hope everyone had a great Xmas and NY break!
