I'm working on some donor data cleanup, inputting a list of updated constituent information into their individual records. It's purely a matter of copy, paste, repeat. However, some fields will accepted data copied directly as a cell like the search fields. Other fields like Display Name for example, require that I actually go into the cell contents and select/copy the data individually before I can paste it. If you just copy and past the cell it does nothing. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason as to which fields allow this and which do not.
Does anyone know if there is a work around for this, or if it is a known issue? It seems like a minor thing, but when you're working with +1000 records, the extra step adds a significant amount of time.
Just commenting in solidarity! I also copy from the formula bar.
I second on the copying from the formula bar. Click the cell you want to copy from, highlight the data from the formula bar, copy, paste into Tess. It is a little annoying, but better than nothing. Tom's idea of the Ctrl+Shift+v also works. Saves you from copying from the formula bar.
