Personally Identifiable Information (PII) guidelines

Hello,

I’m working on developing guidelines for how my orgs Tess users should operate to insure the proper protection of our constituents PII data. Does your organization have a written guide you’d be willing to share? Alternately has this conversation happened at your org and what was the outcome?

Thanks for any help with this!

  • Hi Amanda,

This is definitely something we are working on, but I don't have anything to share yet. It's become a very important conversation and we want to be sure that we are protecting all constituent data, be transparent about what we data we collect and how we use it, and be compliant with all of the laws in the regions we serve. While you'll find that non-profits are exempt from some of the laws, we want to be as conservative as possible for the benefit of the people whose data we have and also because the laws continue to change. We are reviewing the data we have, asking tough questions about what data we'll collect in the future, and developing policies, procedures, and employee education to ensure that everyone is aware of and compliant with our internal practices.
