Vulnerability known as “PrintNightmare”

Hi Svetlana,  

I suppose by now you have found out that when you turn off the print spooler service you can''t print tickets or reports.  You can do the "save as" to change the file extension to pdf and at least keep it that way. 

We have been asked by the University to turn off the print spooler until Microsoft releases a patch.  Now Microsoft says that it can't see the patch being release before the August patch Tuesday.  

Does anyone have a better process than just turn off the print spooler? 

Here is the Microsoft page reporting it - https://msrc.microsoft.com/update-guide/vulnerability/CVE-2021-34481  It states "The workaround for this vulnerability is stopping and disabling the Print Spooler service."  UGH
