Hi,
We found differences between MAIL_IND settings in T_CUSTOMER and TA_AUDIT_TRAIL for column T_CUSTOMER, MAIL_IND and all of the accounts with this difference are merged accounts. I am trying to identify accounts who requested MAIL_IND change online vs in-house and so far, TA_AUDIT_TRAIL has helped but only on non-merged accounts.

When you merge accounts, you keep the mail settings of the kept account. The person scheduling the merge should be updating the kept account with the appropriate settings.
I’m sure someone out there has figured out a way to do this as part of the merge process, but you’d have to be sure that you knew what you were doing when setting it up.
