Hello,
At the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, we are currently looking to move from our current communications system - Mitel, to another. At this point we have not selected a new communications system and are narrowing down our options. If anyone has further information on how they have intergraded their phone system with Tess, please reach out!
Thank you,
Guest Experience Coordinator, Sara Koons
I am actually right in the middle of implementing a new phone system for our box office based on Twilio Flex -- I've been looking forward to building a Tessitura integration with that platform practically since I learned it was released, since I really love working with Twilio services. So, nothing complete to show for it yet, but I never found any other platforms worth considering, mostly due to pricing models and overall product quality. I think there's at least one vendor out there with an existing Tessitura integration, but others will have to speak to its quality.
Nick, thank you for your response. How it is going to with the phone implementation and how long has your team been using Tess?
Our box office has been using Tessitura since 2014.
The implementation is going well so far! But you definitely need to know that Twilio generally provides services for software engineers, and I'm sure there are cloud-based contact center providers who have built their software solution on top of Twilio itself. They have some neat low-code tools, and the admin console is extremely powerful, but you'll almost certainly need to write some code at some point to do what you want -- whether that's one tiny JavaScript function or an entire backend application is going to depend on what your specific needs are and how much customization you want to do.
If you have in-house IT or web dev personnel, I'd definitely recommend looking into it, since you'll never be subject to the kinds of limitations that you often get with other pre-built vendor solutions. I also find that it's easy to get devs excited about the platform if they've never worked with it before -- being able to write code that directly interfaces with the phone system is a lot of fun.
