Problem with form printing

We are having a big problem with Form Printing.

We run to Data Only.  Packages of 15 concerts or more are exporting with concert dates out of order and some fields inverted.  All long packages seem to be affected, but it doesn’t seem to be entirely consistent; it’s usually every other line, but doesn’t seem to be the same line for each subscription order.

What would affect the order of the export?

It doesn’t seem to be Perf Number or Prod Season number order, nor the order of perf groups within package set up.  I can’t see that the problem is in the set up.

Anyone have an answer, please?

Thanx.

  • Sharon,

Not sure this will help, but I've seen some weird ordering in the past.

You mention it's on your longer  packages.... are they split across venues or in different seasons, it doesn't sound like they are flex? (You can't select flexes any longer in ticket form printing :(

We've had to create packages a few different ways over the years for various reasons, and if I recall those scenarios would cause similar issues as what you're describing. This has caused us some headaches in the past with ticket printing, some groups want shows printed in sequence and others grouped in different ways. To get things in order Excel or Access can sometimes be the solution; other times we've written some scripts to "re-group" things.

The other thing with form printing is that you can only see so far down on the header (under ticket design) - depending on how big your tickets are I have a design where the ticket is 12 rows- so I can only see about 10 tickets - but you need to have a form ticket for each ticket in your series ( so you need to do the math when you add the individual ticket element and put the position in)  , this is on the header part  (If I remember correct) So  if your form design only has six tickets and you have a package that should have say 7 tickets - that can throw things way out of whack.  We have the Pittsburgh Symphony and they have a 21 concert package - I remember one time when I never thought it mattered much and used one of the other designs with fewer tickets, and things were pretty messed up. You can use a design that has more tickets so I have a design to accommodate 22 tickets in the event they add an extra symphony. So check your header to see if your header has enough tickets.  I hope that makes sense.  This might be why your smaller packages are working correct and the larger ones are not.  Have you had this during other seasons?

I hope this helps, ticket form printing can cause headaches for sure.....
