August Service Pack now available

Hi Everyone,

The August Service Pack is now available. Please see the full product announcement for more details.

This release has several new features, most notably "Auto-Attend", which allows you to automatically mark tickets as attended at the time they are purchase, based on several conditions such as Mode of Sale, performance doors open and close times, and zone times.

I'll post a preview of September soon! Thanks,

  • -- we just did a test of the "Auto-Attend" MOS feature in the context of an order import from a Zoom Webinar list of attendees.  Unfortunately, it does not appear that the Order Import utility respects the "Auto-Attend" MOS setting.  Can you confirm if this is expected behavior and, if so, would you all be open to including that feature in a future release?

  • Hi Daniel,

Chris is out of the office but I'm happy to chime in. Order Imports do support Auto-Attend, but it requires some specific configuration:

    • The Auto Attend checkbox must be checked on the performance for the mode of sale you'll be using for the import.
    • The Auto Attend window must be active at the time you do the import. On most performances, the auto attend window is defined by the Doors Open/Doors Closed time. (Timed admission performances use a slightly different method.)
    • The order import set must have the "Print Tickets Ind" checkbox checked. Marking the tickets as printed is what triggers the auto attend.

    Does that match your configuration?

  • Greetings, Michael!

Thank you for the prompt response and for your patience -- I realize now that if I had read the Auto-Attend documentation, those caveats are, indeed, clearly highlighted.  We had not set the Door Open / Close Times nor had we configured the Scan Start Time / End Time on the Zone Maps > Price Zones for the facility, which was the problem.  I'll pass this info along to the team, along with the link to the documentation.

One suggestion -- it took me a little while to figure out where the Scan Start Time and End Time are located in Facility Manager > Zone Maps > Price Zones.  I might suggest adding a pointer to where that is configured.  Admittedly, it's an easy search for "Zone Start Time", which takes me right to the N-Scan setup documentation.

Fortunately, it was easy enough to script up marking attendance for all of the tickets we imported, so no harm, no foul.  Again, great thanks for the quick reply and my apologies for not having read the documentation!

  • No problem! I'll check out the documentation and see where we could add some links. Glad you got it sorted out! Note that the Zone Scan Start and End Time fields are only for timed admission-style performances. You don't need to (and actually shouldn't) configure those fields for a traditional performance that uses Doors Open/Close times. (I'm not sure if that is your use case or not, but just passing along the guidance for anyone else playing along at home.)
