The TM_ tables are "mirror" tables that are used when processing transactions in a Controlled batch. When a transaction is processed in a Controlled batch, the data is saved in the TM_ tables and not in the T_ tables. When the Controlled batch is closed, the data is moved from the "mirror" tables into the T_ tables and these entries are cleared from the TM_ tables. Before a Controlled batch is closed, the data sitting in the TM_ tables is not visible in Tessitura (for example, you will not see such a contribution in Constituents/Contributions); when the Controlled batch is closed, the moving of the entries from the TM_ to the T_ tables saves the data as "real" transactions which are visible in the application. This process involves some complex record locking.
