Hi everyone -
We recently did a Wealth Engine screening, and I'm now looking to upload the results to Tessitura. Has anyone done this before and would be able to answer my questions below?
1. What export template do I use? I was hoping there would be a Tessitura template, but alas!
2. I opened a ticket with support to ask about the file specification and they said it needs to be a .txt file. However, the export formats available in Wealth Engine are excel, CSV, and TSV.
Any help is appreciated!! Thanks in advance!
Kari
Hi Kari,
Depending on your import XML setup (default is tab delimited), You can open your CSV in Excel and save it as a tab delimited TXT file.
I assume TSV is "tab separated values": just make sure you've got your quoting delimiters sorted.
We had this same problem when trying to import our Wealth Engine screening data. We eventually had to open a ticket with Wealth Engine and have them generate a custom export file for us since I could not find anywhere what format the file needed to be in, and the exports that we had tried just resulted in errors when I tried to run it through the utility.
My knowledge of this is 2 years old, but when we did imports in the past, we've simply asked customerservice@wealthengine.com to "format the results of XX" for import into Tessitura, and they send back the right template. You can find the documentation for import here.

This matches our experience. i.e. every time we got data from WF it was formatted differently, the columns had changed, etc.. Ultimately I found it easier to do a Task -> Import Data in SSMS each time, but without SSMS access, asking support for match what you need should work.
Thank you all SO much for the quick replies! I'll start with an email to WE customer service and hope that does the trick!
Just in case any else has similar questions, you can unfortunately only request a "custom" export from Wealth Engine via customer service if you do a Batch upload (15,000+ screening profiles). Otherwise, if you do an Express upload, you are limited to the pre-configured export templates.
