Hello,
Our consortium will soon be attempting to clean up some University type constituent records. We're wondering if anyone can share any best practices they might have in determining how many unique records to keep. For example, we currently have 45 different records that contain the words "Temple University." They are a combination of different campuses and different departments or buildings on each campus. This is somewhat similar to the clutter you probably have with other large organizations that have many branches, such as churches and banks.
We may decide to keep them all but would at least like a better naming convention. Any good suggestions out there?
Thanks,~Dan
Bumping this to the top. Six years later.....
Has anyone else out there struggled with a University with lots of contacts; hence lots of records being created in Tessitura?
Any advice on clean up procedures?
Jessica
We are a University, but the most similar issue we have is that we maintain relationships with a large number of teachers at local schools as part of one of our programs. Initially we just had lots of records where the N1 was the contact and the N2 was the school name, but now we have moved all of those over to Group Accounts, where the contact is an "Employee" type Affiliate of the "School" type Group Account.
