Scanning without using NSCAN

Hi

We are looking at implementing PAH and scanning. I have all the information about nscan and the supported android devices for Tessitura. I was wondering if anyone is using PAH & scanning using a system other than nscan? Or using a complete different scanning system altogether? 

If anyone has any help and advise it would be much appreciated.

    I developed a scanning solution that we have been using in Milwaukee here...    The front-end runs on throw-away android devices that can be re-purposed for this, connected to a zebra USB based (1d) scanner device..
