Scanning without using NSCAN

Hi

We are looking at implementing PAH and scanning. I have all the information about nscan and the supported android devices for Tessitura. I was wondering if anyone is using PAH & scanning using a system other than nscan? Or using a complete different scanning system altogether?

If anyone has any help and advise it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

  • Hi Eleanor,

While a number of our members at the Philadelphia Regional Arts Consortium do use NScan, one of our smaller organizations wants to use PAH but can't justify buying scanners for the few events they put on throughout the year. My solution was to create an SSRS utility that records the attendance for the ticket number entered as a parameter. This way, ushers can access Tess on the Go to record attendance and get seat locations, all right from their mobile devices.

In theory, this should work, and while I had it successfully running on TOTG I've hit a snag with a mysterious error message and am working with TN support to fix the issue.

I'd call this the poor man's approach to NScan, but I'm happy to share the utility once it's actually working. Slight smile

    Good luck!
