Extract constituents failed

I'm trying to extract constituents, having successfully generated counts, but each time I try, the process fails at the BCP stage with the error message

***BCP OUT failed! more info in ....\extract16.err

However, the err report is not being created. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

Thanks, Christopher

For us, this has usually been because of some obscure problem withthe chain of permissions required to run extractions successfully.
There is a good Knowledgebase solution, that walks you through a  series of checks and tests, called "Since installing SQL 2005, extractions are not working. What could be the problem?" (Old TASK # 16105)

You should walk through that, as a first step.

  • Hi Christopher, We had exactly this problem, quite a while ago. There was a permissions issue with the share on the server, so we created a new AD security group. Also, I think we had an issue with the account which runs the reports, but as it was a while ago I'm not sure about that.

    Good luck. Debbie

    Christopher,

From your description of the problem and the error you are getting, it sounds like the proxy account is not working.  I'll email a document for you to review the settings for the proxy account and dbowner of the databases.
