We're on Tessitura v15.1 and TNEW v7. The new Payment Plans feature in TNEW excludes Fees from the billing schedule requiring that they be paid upfront. This is awesome! I'd love to do the same thing within Tessitura, but can't figure out how to do that. Any ideas from the brain trust?
Thanks!
Sara
Hi Sara - I'm not sure whether this replicates the TNEW functionality exactly, so you may need to take a look at a web order to compare - but any partial payments applied to a ticket order should get applied first to Contributions, then to Fees, and then finally to the seats themselves. https://www.tessituranetwork.com/knowledgebase/Default.htm#Ticketing_Setup_and_Administration/Payment_Order_of_Items_in_Ticket_Orders.htm
So if your internal practice in the client is to always set up the first installment of a payment plan to a) equal the total fee amount, or b) equal the fee amount + the first installment toward the seats themselves, in theory it should pay things off in the same sequence as online. We're not on TNEW so I can't verify independently, but hopefully it's a starting point!
Thanks Evan. That is our practice and what we do in the client. However, TNEW automatically excludes Fees and Contributions from being included in the Payment Plan thus doing the calculations automatically rather than requiring someone to do the math, which is what I'd like to see in the client. Perhaps I should put this in as an Enhancement Request?
Ahh, I see. Sounds like it would be a good enhancement - you've probably already tried this but I tested paying off only the fees in an order and then closing and reloading it, but the payment plan window still calculated based on the original full order total. Darn!
Thanks Evan. I actually hadn't thought to try that. Too bad it doesn't work. I'm going to submit this as an enhancement request.
Sara - that would be an AMAZING application enhancement!
