Hello. In QuickSale we have an easy way for a donation to be received for the Annual Fund. A week after such a transaction transpired, Development wants to re-allocate the donation to a different fund. I tried putting the monies On Account, but the database will not allow me to access the original transaction. Does anyone know why this would be the case? I have made adjustments from one fund to another previously, so I am puzzled. Any thoughts?
Hi Mary-Ellen! When contributions are processed using QuickSale, they're added as a ticket order and must be edited there (instead of a normal contribution adjustment through the contributions module.) If you are still not able to open the original ticket order, you'll need to be given access to that MOS. If you can open the order but can't find the fund you're looking for, you'll need to go into fund setup and check the "Use In Ticketing" checkbox for that fund.
Hello Darryl, Thank you. Your response led us to the fix. One last question: We did need to check "Use in Ticketing"...do you think it's preferable to uncheck this box now that we completed the desired change? Can we simply check and uncheck this box freely when needed, or would you advise against it?
You are very welcome! I think that depends on whether you'd like that fund to be available for new contributions processed through ticketing orders. If you're worried someone could select it accidentally, when they should have chosen your Annual Fund, I would uncheck it now that you are done adjusting. (And yes, you can totally check it again later if you find yourself in need of another similar adjustment.)
Thanks once more. I appreciate your responsiveness.
