Schedule a report like the Performance Seating Book?

We have an operations manager that wants to have a fall back system in the event of server/communication failure with Tessitura.  He wants to have a report like the Performance Seating Book to be automatically run four hours prior to a performance and saved to a PDF.  The House Map Report can be scheduled in this manner, but it does not provide the ticketing detail to handle ticketing issues if Tessitura or the connection to Tessitura was down at show time.  Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Allen

  • Hi Allen,

After reading your post and having the same need I decided to modify the standard seating book to be schedule friendly.
I've removed the season and performance requirements and replaced with start and end date. I've also added performance code for grouping and performance name.
So far it appears to be working as expected and after I do some testing and clean up the report a bit I'd be happy to share with you if you like.

    Cheers!

    Hi Allen,

Our consortium was recently experiencing some server crashing, often very close to show time, so I created a job that runs every 2 hours and emails the raw output of the House Map report and the Performance Seating Book to any theaters that have shows coming up in the next 2 hours. If a theater doesn’t have a show in the next 2 hours, they don’t receive an email. Our theaters have been very happy with this arrangement, and they don’t have to worry about scheduling these reports themselves, although raw output is definitely not as pretty as a PDF.

I can share my code if anyone's interested.
