Hello,
We create a separate Price Zone for Restricted View Seats. This allows us to use specific price types with ‘Restricted View’ in the description. Our website displays this Zone and Pricing information to make it clear to customers that they are purchasing seats with a restriction at selection and in the cart. We don’t use Seat Types to indicate restricted view as we have a variety of events in our theatres that can have a different set of Restricted View seats. With Seat Types existing at Facility level only and having over 160 Facilities already, this is not a viable option.
We also want to indicate these Restricted View seats on our SYOS map by displaying them with a different symbol to non restricted seats. The standard method of doing this is either Hold Codes or Seat Types. Given we don’t use Seat Types, our SYOS developer is using Hold Codes. However we have found that the REST methods that return Zone Availability do not take into account anything except open seats, status = 0 (designed to make these calls as effective as possible). So when we apply the Restricted View holds to all seats in our Restricted View Zone, SYOS no longer displays these seats as available.
Has anyone worked around this? What REST Methods have you used?
We are also posting this in the Web Developers forum.
Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide
Kim
