I haven't really dealt much with payment gateway things and am also having a brain freeze, so would appreciate if anyone can confirm a couple of (probably basic) things for me. Are Vantiv/WorldPay and Payment Express (we're in North America) the only options for our gateway, regardless of who is our actual processor? I believe we currently use Vantiv for both, but may be switching away from Vantiv.
If we keep Vantiv as our gateway, but switch to a different processor, we won't have to do anything to our credit card terminals?
I would like to provide all the info I can to my CFO so she can make an informed decision and we aren't caught unaware. Appreciate any and all comments!

As far as I'm aware, Vantiv and Payment Express are the only two options in North America currently. Here is a page that shows integrated payment processing options: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/en/Services/Partnerships/Payment-Processing.
If you switch from Vantiv to Payment Express, you will likely need to replace your terminals. For one thing, Vantiv and Payment Express use and support different terminals. Likewise, P2PE keys are going to be different.
