Hello all -
We recently purchased new thin clients to connect to our terminal servers. These are niflty little models that have a barebones version of Windows 10 on them. We've got kiosk mode up and running successfully and our last step now is connecting BOCAs to them locally for box office use. Just FYI - we have 3 box office windows that use old HP Print servers to network 3 BOCAs. The Box Office Managers (4 stations) have locally connected BOCAs however. The new thin clients - as you may guess - do not have parallel ports (go figure) - only USB.
However, we cannot get Tessitura to recognize the locally installed BOCA as a ticket printer. I can print windows test pages so i know the thin client recognizes that there is a printer connected - but cannot get Tessitura to even acknowledge it.
Any ideas? Any advice would be helpful. Many thanks.
RJ
Hi RJ,
The first thing I always check with Boca problems is to make sure the printers are set-up as Generic/Text Only under Printer Properties. That's the only way Tessitura will recognize them.
Thanks Sara - we installed it using the regular drivers (windows 10 kinda took over the install) and then changed the drivers to the generic/text only once the printer was recognized.
