Rollover Subscriptions - how to handle it best when the dates are in flux

Hi there!

Morgan Gavaletz from The Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine!

Regarding Rollover: we typically do not solidify our production schedule by the time we need to start creating performances/packages for the following years Rollover.  For example, this year we began our 2019 Subscription Rollover build mid-August, but production was not yet ready to give us firm dates for all of the shows for 2019, which stalled our Rollover progress.  Production does their best to give us the dates they *think* will be correct, but if they lose the rights to the show we had slated for our 1st show of the season, which they thought we'd have for 7 weeks, that can screw up our subscriptions: If the 1st show switches from 7 weeks to 4 weeks, then Show 2 is affected by this (specifically our Subscribers will be coming to the show 3 weeks earlier than planned) and the dates will need to be adjusted.  Make sense?

Is there a better way to create performances/packages for Rollover, when you don't have solid dates?  Do any of you deal with fluctuating dates and if so, how do you handle your Rollover when this happens?  We're basically looking for a "best practice" when it comes to the creation of Subscription Rollovers when dates are in question.

Thank you,
