we just got back a whole NCOA that flagged a lot of addresses as bad, they address itself isn't bad it is the way that we have been putting them into Tess (forever...) so I'm wondering what others are doing. Basically if an individual has a business address we have been entering it with the Company as Address Line 1 and the #/street as Address Line 2. All of these came back bad. I don't want to send it without the company but don't know what to do to get around that when pulling lists (what if the individual isn't associated with an organization at all???). Any ideas would be great. Thanks a bunch.
Example A
Mary Smith
Rutgers School of Music
115 College Ave
New Brunswick, NJ 08901
OR
Example B
115 College Ave.
If you put the company name in Street 2 or 3 would you then set up mailings (to the mail house) as follows??? Wouldn’t that mess up regular people who had like a street 1 and a street 2 apartment???
Salutation 1
Street 2
Street 1
Street 3
City, State ZIP
I believe the USPS expects:
Street 2 [i.e. apt num, business name, etc.]
Street 1 [i.e. the actual USPS street address]
That works for us, whether it be NCOA, USPS, or other.
thanks!
