we just got back a whole NCOA that flagged a lot of addresses as bad, they address itself isn't bad it is the way that we have been putting them into Tess (forever...) so I'm wondering what others are doing. Basically if an individual has a business address we have been entering it with the Company as Address Line 1 and the #/street as Address Line 2. All of these came back bad. I don't want to send it without the company but don't know what to do to get around that when pulling lists (what if the individual isn't associated with an organization at all???). Any ideas would be great. Thanks a bunch.
Example A
Mary Smith
Rutgers School of Music
115 College Ave
New Brunswick, NJ 08901

Example B
115 College Ave.
We've always entered the actual street address as street1, and used street2 for the business address, apt number, etc., as/if needed. I believe your NCOA processor is interpreting the data that way, as ours does.
Sounds like you might want to swap the data you have in street1 with street2, a simple enough SQL update, though keeping a backup copy of T_ADDRESS handy would be recommended in a case like this. :-)
