I'm wondering if anyone else here has done this and has any wisdom to offer on the various options available?
The main thing I'm trying to puzzle through right now is whether or not to use a separate Web Login type. What are the advantages/disadvantages of separating them from our standard Web Logins? I assume one advantage is ease of finding/segregating Goldstar accounts. I'm not sure of possible downsides.
The really hard part is going to be the payment method, but that's because we have a host of complicated custom financial reports that we're required to use for the University, and I haven't gotten my head around what ramifications those will have.
We just recently implemented the integration. I did not create a separate Login type because the integration uses a specific MOS, price type, source code, and allocations; all of which makes the transactions easy to identify. As for payment method, we are using a "deferred payment" method that is used for all our broker type transactions since the funds are received after the performance. We reconcile the orders once the funds are received but, by using the deferred payment method, we can accurately report on sales.
That being said, we're a Symphony so we're not dealing with tenants and/or outside promoters. Makes things a bit simpler for us.
Thanks! I'm hoping the Payment Method will make more sense once I have it set up and have some Test transactions to look at.
