editable contribution sales layout button

Hi everyone,

I’ve done some poking around, and don’t think it’s possible, but… has anyone found a way to create a contribution button for quicksale screens that has an editable amount- not a round up or fixed?  Our frontline users use quicksale almost exclusively and having an editable amount button would make their processing life a lot easier than having to switch to the order contribution tab, type something in, and then switch back to quicksale.

Cheers,
Kathleen

  • Hi Kaley,

Unfortunately, that’s not quite what we’re looking for  (we have some people who will donate cents as well as dollars).  Also, that creates separate contributions each time the button is pressed -so If I used the buttons to do $75, my account would show three donations.   That makes reporting a little more troublesome for Development!

  • What about doing them as a Fee instead of as a Contribution. That is the way that we do it here. We did it as a Fee to simplify it for our cashiers.

You can tell it what GL you want the money to go into. Your Development would just have to pull a different report. We have a Fee Category called "Donation at Gate" that is assigned to all those Fees.

In our QuickSale setup, it is similar to Kaley's example.

With the donating cents, you could have the equivalent to a penny, nickel, dime, quarter, or half-dollar.

Just another way to think about your options,
