Multi-Day Ticket Options

We are looking into doing a "bounceback" ticket for the weekends. It would be valid for two consecutive performances in the same season. Attendance scanned for both days. It would not be the sum of the parts as we intend to discount the two-day value. It would need to be fluent on the web. What are the options and how are you all doing it?

  • Hi Nicole/Ronan, just seeing this now haha! We just started doing a two-day pass here at the CMHR.  We are just piloting it, so didn't do it on the web; however, I am sure it would work just fine.

We did it by essentially setting up a package every day that had 'today' and the next day.

Then, to get the price right, we have a pricing rule that automatically changes the price type from "Adult" to "2-Day Adult" at a discount.

As we also have a temporary gallery space that we track attendance separately for...so essentially, we have one package per day that has 4 perf groups, Main Galleries Day 1, Main Galleries Day 2, Temp Gallery Day 1, Temp Gallery Day 2...and then each perf group has the single 'mandatory' performance.  So in the end, the visitor gets one ticket with '4 performances' that are each valid the correct date and also track correctly for attendance.

Happy to discuss more if this is of interest :)

  • Thanks Derek. So are those packages setup manually each day or through a stored procedure?

And is it possible to purchase, say, a 2 day package for 5 weeks time, or can they only purchase them on the day?

  • We set them all up in advance using a custom utility as the new out of the box package builder from v. 14.1 doesn't work for what we need.

And, we don't allow people to purchase them in advance at this time (only same day sales and upgrades); however, we would just have to change MOS onsale dates to allow this for happen if we ever wanted to allow for advance sales.
