Hello! Our organization is less than a year into using Tessitura, but we have great need for online registration (through TNEW) for our Children's Theater Camps. At this point we are still using paper forms for registration and we are trying to get away from that.
There is a catch: we'd like parents to be able to sign up online, provide payment, but only be charged once their child has been accepted into the camp (in other words, unlike with ticket sales where payment is taken immediately). As you can imagine, we only have so many openings within the camps and we want to avoid refunding parents who sign up once the camp is at capacity. Is there a way to do this in Tessitura via TNEW? Please keep in mind we're in our infancy with Tessitura - please be patient with me! I will likely have plenty of questions :)
Thank you!

Perhaps you could do this with a Mode of Sale shift to a MOS that allows unpaid orders where the parents would select a "Registration" sort of Payment Plan. The first payment on the plan would be $0 (this is set-up in TR_BILLING_SCHEDULE). Then it would be your registrar's/education dept.'s responsibility to run the actual payment (100% balance due) once the student is accepted. If the student isn't accepted, you could return/delete the appropriate subline items so the parent's card isn't charged. Keep in mind though, that there would still be an order record so I would recommend exchanging the student into a "Not Accepted" sort of price type that cost $0 so you know why there was an order in the first place.
I'm curious to hear what you decide to do. Best of luck!
